Vera
From the Holocaust to hope
In 1935, Vera is born in Breslau, Germany, as antisemitism casts its shadow across the nation.
From childhood, she faces horrors beyond measure. She flees her home with her mother and brother, desperate to survive. Her father is torn away to Buchenwald during the violence of Kristallnacht. Her grandmother and relatives are deported to Theresienstadt, then to Auschwitz, where they are murdered.
By concealing her Jewish faith, she endures alongside her family and miraculously reunites with her father after liberation. A testament to the unbreakable human spirit.
A true miracle.
